Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture

Master of Doom written by David Kushner is the amazing true story of the Lennon and McCartney of video games: John Carmack and John Romero. Together, they ruled big business. They provoked a national controversy. More than anything, they lived a unique and rollicking American Dream, produce the most notoriously successful game franchises in history—Doom andQuake— until the games they made tore them apart. This is a story of friendship and betrayal, commerce and artistry—a powerful and compassionate account of what it’s like to be young, driven, and wildly creative.

We played games created by id (specially Quake 2 and Quake 3) and were captivated by it. I had read this book almost 10 yrs ago and was enjoying the read again and reliving those days again. Missed playing Quake 3 .. I hope many of you miss it too.

This ibook is about how an empire is build and destroyed. A must read, one you should not miss,  get your copy from here.
